VoyageATL: Meet Nicole Lofton of Atlanta November 2, 2024 – Posted in: JGCC In The News

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Lofton

Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Plain and simple I was raised by my grandmother who found the strength to raise another generation. She made gardens grow, mowed grass, and tried to prune trees. She made wine and canned peaches. When she cooked in the kitchen, she made a story unfold. Therefore, you are reading my story today.

So, I started in the kitchen, I guess like most chef’s, head barely above the countertop, wide eyed and full of imagination. My mom (grandmother) insisted that I was in the kitchen while she cooked, and I fostered a relationship with food that I have found hard to shake. I saw her waste little and now I have learned to dream big creating granola, snack mixes, and gluten free items I think she would find very tasty.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Well, I guess I’m still on that journey of learning and understanding the business side of it all. However, in the last few months, I have met some of the most extraordinary people at the SBA and in the business world who have been able to mentor and foster me into a more purposeful person in business. I’ve learned I’m not just a chef, but I’m someone who can actually leave a legacy., if not for this generation, but the next. I’m not sure if I am supposed to admit that, but I guess it’s part of the journey my mother couldn’t show me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist that creates food.
I’m sometimes misunderstood for the foods I create and the foods I think are great tasting.
I feel good that people want quality products, and they are surprised that our products have no artificial ingredients. Expressions say it all!
I am quirky, a bit demanding, excited and generous about any knowledge we have to share about foods. We can all learn from each other.
I am an artist that creates mouthwatering treats for palates that are unaware that food can really taste this good.
We are Just Good Clean Cookin!

Any big plans?
Our goals this year are to expand our product offerings in larger retail markets. To achieve this goal, we will put some of our products in a customized bag.
